Quick Beauty Tips - Oh, how I love thee

Today has been an annoying day so far, and even though I have only been awake for about 7 hours I am ready to crawl back in bed. I woke up at 6am because my mom came in to put eye drops in my eyes, but I was so incredibly disoriented I asked her about the CIA (I blame the fact that I fell asleep reading The Lost Symbol, which involves someone from the CIA). I also remember asking her if they had custody of my blog, and her trying to convince me that my blog was still mine.

About an hour later I woke up again, still in a weirdly medicated state of confusion, and had a perfectly normal conversation with my cat Bear. He seems to think that walking on my face, in particular my eyeballs, is a perfectly ordinary thing to do, but I beg to differ. I told him he needed to have respect for me, and learn by example. I don't walk on
his eyeballs, after all.

I woke up and uploaded my video, only to have it be taken down within 30 mins for "copyright". Really?! I get so annoyed at days like this, I just want to curl up and read my book. Or take a lush bath. Or both. I think I will.

Oh, I forgot to mention - we were out of Diet Coke too. I know I am "giving these up".... eventually, but for now they are my one health vice.

Anyway I uploaded another video, a Glitter Glossary Quick Tip. This one is about how you can use redness relief drops to take the red out of a pimple. I have used many things in my day to help reduce these monsters - honey, toothpaste, eyedrops... the list goes on and on. The eyedrops I have found to work though.

I also have a few more Quick Tips already on YouTube, a homemade sugar lip scrub, a quick mascara smudge tip, and a lush storage trick.

What are your quick beauty tips? I am always on the look for fast tips. Let me know what you swear by!

Here are some makeup tips i've been collecting. hope u like them elle

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Feel a pimple coming on?
Try applying a small dab of Apple Cider Vinegar to the spot before bed, and awake to clearer skin.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Stressed? It will show!
Here are a few suggestions on how to detox: Natural aromatherapy oils or candles in the home - Listen to calming music at night - have a massage at least once a month - exercise at least 30 minutes a day - take a 20 minute walk in the evening - take all natural vitamins daily- And don't forget to smile!!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Deep-set eyes have sockets that are set back. Natural shadow below the eyes call for lightening with concealer or highlighter. Opt for a light shadow on the lid, with a deeper color above it.

AnnieY said...

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
SMOKEY EYE!
For natural Smokey looking eyes, smudge in your eyeliner by creating tiny circular motions near the lashes to blend in the color!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Eye Liner & Lip Pencil
Before sharpening your eyeliner or lip pencil, place it in the freezer for around 10minutes. They will harden slightly and not break when sharpened.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Full lips?
Skip the liner. Keep the color soft for the day, anything dark can look a bit overwhelming. Opt for matte or gloss colors!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Before powders…
Loose and pressed powders need something to grab onto, so apply a cream eyeshadow
underneath.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Almond eyes
These eyes are said to have the perfect proportions so don't hold back! Go experiment!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Creasing eye shadow?
Avoid wearing eye moisturizer with shimmer eye shadows, it breaks up the consistency of the shadow and causes creasing.
QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Curled to the Max!
To maximize your lashes potential, first squeeze the lashes at the root with an eyelash curler, then release and squeeze two or three times more along the length of the lashes, working toward the tips. As you move away from the root, gradually turn your wrist so the curler is rotating away from the face. Want more length? Place the curler under a hairdryer for 10 seconds.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Dark Circles
Take 2 teabags that you have already used put them in the freezer until they are cold (30 mins) then put them on your eyes use this tip daily and watch your dark circles fade away bring these teabags to use instead of wasting them

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Want younger looking eyes?
Apply a little eye cream on the brow bone and under the eyes. Then dab on a concealer that matches your skin tone. The last thing to do is line your eyes with a pencil just below the lash line. This will give the impression of larger and brighter eyes!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Spare your lashes!
Never use your eyelash curler after applying your mascara! Always use it before or you may pull out your eyelashes!!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Get rid of those dark circles!!!
Here's 6 ways to help eliminate dark circles: 1. Get enough sleep. Try to go to bed a little earlier than you normally would. 2. Cucumber slices have a soothing effect on the eyes. 3. Use sunscreen every day and moisturize in the night preferably using a good under eye cream. 4. Drink plenty of water to hydrate the skin. 5. Apply cold compresses. 6. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Iron deficiency can be a cause for dark circles around the eyes.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Thin Eyelashes?
Use an eyeliner to fill in any gaps between the lashes and lightly dusT them with powder in between coats of mascara to add volume.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Dark Circles?
If you have dark circles under your eyes, don't apply eyeliner until dark circles are covered with concealer. Or else your eyes will become too dark!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Asian eyes
To increase the depth of the eyes, use darker eyeshadow in and above the crease. Apply eyeliner as close to the lashline as possible.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Freeze! Puffy, droopy and under eye circles got you down?
Grab a Gel Mask! Pop in the freezer for a few minutes to chill, strap on and watch those dreary eyes awaken! ( a few minutes a day wearing a chilled gel eye mask has been shown to reduce the signs of aging.)

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Not sure about metallics?
An easy way to start using metallic makeup is to apply a spot of silver on the center of your upper lid. Or try a speck of gold on the inside corners of your eyes to make them look bright and sparkling. This will make your eyes appear bigger!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Add a bit of sparkle!
Going on a date or having your photo taken? Try adding a shimmery eye shadow in the same shade as your brows. This soft gleam will make your eyes sparkle!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Droopy eyes got you down?
Line the top eyelid with eyeliner at the outer corner or the lash line and draw the line upwards. To make it look softer, apply eye shadow on top of the line, or you can smudge it in with your finger!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Ouch!!
Plucking your eyebrows in pain, try icing your brows 10 seconds prior to plucking to numb the skin.

AnnieY said...

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Out of eyeliner?
Use your mascara and apply with an eyeliner brush, looks just like liquid eyeliner it will last all day!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Want to minimize "crows feet"?
Wearing sunglasses can help protect your eyes from harmful sun rays, but also can prevent pre-mature aging due to squinting, not to mention sunglasses are the perfect fashion accessory!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Bye bye clumps!
To avoid clumpy lashes, lay the Mascara brush at the bAse of the lashes, jiggle the brush from side to side, and then whisk it up through the rest of the lashes. This loads the mascara at the base of the lashes. It doesn't leave you with clumpy ends, but thick and luscious lashes!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Keep getting clumps on your lashes??
Try wiping off excess mascara from your mascara wand with a tissue before use to prevent clumps on your lashes!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Tired Eyes?
To fake awake and wide eyes after a long night apply a light eyeshadow in bright tones such as whites or golds to the inside corner of the eyes. Blend a bit up to the brow and down under the eye.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Glasses?
When deciding what kind of eye look to do, consider your frames. Thick frames, go for a natural look. Thin frames, go for drama, drama!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Puffy eyes?
Run teaspoons under cold water, and place on eyes for a few seconds. Close the eyes, then using the rounded edge massage gently by rolling back and forth over the eye area.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
In Between the Lines
Use lipliner all over the lips, not just as an outline. This will give a better finish and will hold your lipstick for longer. If lipstick does wear off, you will still have an all-over color rather than just an outline.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Lipstick on the teeth?
After applying lipstick make an O shape with your lips, put you index finger halfway into your mouth and slowly pull out, letting your lips roll over the finger. Any excess color will glide onto you finger and not on your teeth!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Exfoliate your lips!
Want kissable lips, use your toothbrush and brush your lips slightly before bed, add our lip balm, and awake with smooth lips!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Need to remove stains from your teeth?
Mix a little bit of baking soda and peroxide together and use as a paste instead of your normal tooth paste once a week.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Teeth feeling yellow?
Wearing darker lipstick can make your teeth appear whiter!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Slippery lips!
To stop your lip gloss from slipping, rub an ice cube over your lips after applying.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
No Time?
The quickest way to add color to the lips is to use a tinted lip balm. This is a fast and natural way to add color, moisture and protection in one easy swipe!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Want to create your own lip color?
Create your own lip color by using a sheer lip-gloss and mixing it with a favorite eye shadow

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Go a little overboard and out of "line" with applying lip gloss?
Clean up the lips with a Q-tip for fast fixes!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Flushed?
To reduce redness, spray your face with cold water or stand with your head in the air from the freezer for a few moments.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
True Effects
To see the true effect of your foundation, let it settle for a few minutes on your face. Then blend of layer in more foundation in spots where it is needed.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Minimized Pores!
Ingredients: -one green tomatoes - one tsp of honey directions using a blender puree the tomato with the honey, apply to a clean face with elfs foundation brush, and leave on for 20 minutes, then wash

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Want beautiful waves without the trouble?
Put your hair in a low braid while it’s still wet and let it dry naturally!!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Want to know the fountain of youth?
Wear Sunscreen! Wearing sunscreen daily will help skin moisturized, looking youthful and can help prevent certain types of cancer. Avoid prime sun exposure during 10:00-3:00pm to prevent burns and intense UV rays.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Blush Emergency!
Blush overload? If you used a cream blush, take a makeup sponge and place a drop of foundation on it and with tiny upward strokes, buff over your blush to soften the color. If you used powder blush, do the same with a dry sponge.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Large pores??
To take care of enlarged skin pores you need lemon juice and orange juice. Mix the juices and apply all over your face in upward and outward stokes. Wash it after 10 minutes. This is also a good facial mask for oily skin!!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Keep it LOW!
When blow drying your hair, try to keep it on a low setting so you won’t damage your hair!!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Blush Up!
Your blush should always look as natural as possible!! . Place your index and middle finger vertically against the side of your nose. Start putting the blusher from near the edge of the outer finger, going up to the temple. . If you have a square or round face apply the blusher on your cheekbones and do not brush it up towards your ears. . Dab blusher on each earlobe. It can add a glow to your face if you pull your hair back or have short hair. . Don't forget to add a touch of the blusher on your chin and forehead to help give the natural look.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Secret Concealer Find!
If you don't want to spend the money on a separate spot concealer, dip your concealer brush into the leftover foundation that is a bit dried up in the cap. It is thicker than what is in the bottle and you can layer it on the spots.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
*Elmer’s glue (maybe dangerous)*
Use Elmer’s glue on your face to get rid of blackheads! Simply apply the glue to your face and peel off when dry!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
VITAMIN C!
Vitamin C in a daily dosage of 2000 mg is strongly recommended to help you maintain your good looks and prevent the appearance of broken blood vessels. Vitamin C is one of the building blocks of blood vessel walls and helps strengthen them. Vitamin C can also help your skin look more radiant!!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP::
Yogurt, what can it be used for?
It can be applied to you skin to soften and sooth tight, dry skin. It can be used on oily skin to absorb excess oil. And it can also be used to get rid of a flakey scalp! Massage it onto your scalp and leave it for 15 minutes. Then rinse it out, you should now be flake free!!
QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Prep
Use toner on your face first then apply moisturizer to enable better blending of foundation and concealer.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Find Your Cheekbones!
The top of your cheeckbones are a key place to apply highlighter because it draws the eyes upward, highlights your bone structure and gives the face more radiance. To find them, place two fingers side by side under the outer corner of your eye and bingo... you found it!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Want a quick way to remove blackheads?
Steam you face for a few minutes and exfoliate immediately afterwards! Finish by closing pores with a cool compress.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Mmm Honey!!
Use honey to get rid of a bad blemish! Apply it and then cover it overnight. The reason this works is because honey is antibacterial. Honey can also be used to prevent a burn from turning into a blister!!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Your pores are big and you want them to shrink!!
Every morning, when you get ready to apply makeup, rub a ice cube all over your face. Then clean and dry your face. Your face should now look and feel tighter, then when you apply your powder or foundation, it will look smoother.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Lip Color 1,2,3
Your skin color is important when determining which lip color will be the most flattering. Plums, wines and deep reds are perfect for those with dark skin. Light-brown beiges with pink or orange undertones flatter light skin and brownish reds, light browns and raisin shades look good on olive skin.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
STOP!
Do not apply moisturizer after waxing your upper lip! Apply sweet almond oil to the spot, then apply a cold compress or bag of frozen food to the area for a few minutes. This will make the redness go down and stop irritation!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Lip lines?
Reduce the appearance by applying lip color vertically versus horizontally.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
apply the foundation to the face, starting in the center and blending it over the nose working outwards. You can apply this with a foundation brush of your fingers.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Unwanted scars or blemishes?
Try tea tree oil, it has been proven to help reduce the appearance of scars, and help clear up blemishes.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Veins, Scars, and Blemishes… oh my!
A creamy stick or spot concealer works great to keep your complexion looking flawless! It should be a little thicker than your regular foundation or it will slide off. If you're hiding acne, look for a concealer with a pimple fighting salicylic acid.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Get great skin!
Avoid strong sunlight and use sun cream. Drink at least a liter of water daily. Limit intake of alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, additives, salt and sugar. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

QUICK MAKEUP TIP:
Want a ready to go face in 30 seconds?
First use a cream concealer on blemishes and under eye circles. Next use a tiny bit of liquid or gel blush on cheeks and work in with your fingers. And lastly slick you hair back into a high pony or a bun.
